Making the invisible visible

In nature infrared (IR) is being observed and noticed in various ways
We humans do enjoy the warmthly rays of the sun
After a while the warmth becomes too hot for us and we take shelter in the shade of buildings, trees, bushes or hedges
However, plants cannot move to get shelter under a roof or next to wall
To prevent an overheating and death by heatstroke, the plants do reflect IR-light

This effect is called Wood-Effect, named after Robert Williams Wood (1868 - 1955) who discovered this effect in 1910
Science do use this effect for scientific analyses, such as Earth observations from space using satellites

Making IR-light visible, gives another perspective to our surroundings & environment…
